India imported 1,500 tonnes of olive oil in 2006, 2,300 tonnes in 2007, and 4,500 tonnes in 2008, and by 2012 the demand will be close to 42,000 tonnes, according to V.N. Dalmia, President of the Indian Olive Association. More here at the Hindu Business Line.
